About the Author

I was born in Park Ridge, Illinois, the eighth child of a Protestant minister. We lived in Illinois and then Missouri until I was six, and then I grew up in a suburb of Boston. So I’m not really from anywhere in particular. I went to school in Richmond, Virginia, then returned north and kept going, landing in a little town in mid-coast Maine, where I live with my wife and two daughters.

I post things about writing in general, and about my own approach to publishing, etc., on this site.

To read about my fiction series, The Gunners Trilogy, visit the Gunners website. There is an email list signup for news about book releases and so on, and the blog about the trilogy is there.

If you are a WWI naval history enthusiast, see my website, The Subchaser Archives.
